Biografia
Nathalie Jacquounain è nata e cresciuta nella Russia sovietica, a San Pietroburgo. Inizia a studiare seriamente arte all’età di dieci anni e si diploma come scenografa all’Accademia Nazionale di Teatro e Cinematografia. Spinta da un forte senso di appartenenza alla tradizione artistica europea, si è trasferita in Francia, a Parigi, nel 1980, dove ha lavorato per un anno all’École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris, poi ha studiato all’Università di Parigi 7 Jussieu e ha ottenuto un diploma post-laurea in comunicazione. Jacquounain ha pubblicato diversi articoli sulla teoria dell’arte nella rivista «Schéma et schématisation».
Ha realizzato su commissione un affresco decorativo a mosaico di 2m x 12m sul tema dell’ecologia nello spazio pubblico di Créteil e una scultura alta 1m50 sul tema della diversità per il Centro Culturale di Créteil.
Jacquounain ha realizzato 15 mostre personali (11 in Francia), fra cui, presso il Centro Leonardo Da Vinci Art Expo di Milano, “Sogni. Specchi. Enigmi”, dal 26 ottobre al 24 novembre 2024, a cura di Luca Siniscalco. Dal 22 al 30 Settembre 2025 ha esposto “Lutetia”, ultima mostra personale al Cloître des billettes, a Parigi, con testi di Luca Siniscalco e Maria Marchese. Partecipa regolarmente a numerose fiere e mostre collettive, con intensa partecipazione alle iniziative del Nuovo Rinascimento, fra cui il Festival presso Villa Tittoni (Desio, 2020), l’esposizione permanente presso il Centro Leonardo Da Vinci Art Expo (Milano, 2022) e la rassegna d’arte “Tempo di Natura e Coscienza” (Centro Leonardo Da Vinci Art Expo, dal 28 ottobre 2023 al 28 gennaio 2024).
Nathalie Jacquounain was born and raised in Soviet Russia, in St. Petersburg. She began studying art seriously at the age of ten and graduated as a set designer from the National Academy of Theater and Cinematography.
Driven by a strong sense of belonging to the European artistic tradition, she moved to France, to Paris, in 1980, where she worked for a year at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris, then studied at the University of Paris 7 Jussieu and obtained a postgraduate diploma in communication. Jacquounain has published several articles on art theory in the journal «Schéma et schématisation».
She created, on commission, a decorative mosaic fresco of 2m x 12m on the theme of ecology in the public space of Créteil and a 1m50 high sculpture on the theme of diversity for the Cultural Center of Créteil.
Jacquounain has held 15 solo exhibitions (11 in France), among them, at the Leonardo Da Vinci Art Expo Center in Milan, “Dreams. Mirrors. Enigmas”, from October 26 to November 24, 2024, curated by Luca Siniscalco. From September 22 to 30, 2025, she presented “Lutetia”, the latest solo exhibition at the Cloître des Billettes in Paris, with texts by Luca Siniscalco and Maria Marchese.
She regularly participates in numerous fairs and group exhibitions, with intense participation in the initiatives of the New Renaissance, including the Festival at Villa Tittoni (Desio, 2020), the permanent exhibition at the Leonardo Da Vinci Art Expo Center (Milan, 2022) and the art exhibition “Time of Nature and Consciousness” (Leonardo Da Vinci Art Expo Center, from October 28, 2023 to January 28, 2024).

Un uomo corre intorno a una sfera – o ellisse. Il filo con un cristallo al centro funge da supporto simbolico-visivo alla trasformazione onirica del reale: tirandolo verso l’alto l’immagine si chiude, lasciando un solo corridore; se il cristallo scende, invece, l’immagine si espande e il corridore si moltiplica nel tempo, unendo passato, presente e futuro.
L’opera è un tentativo estetico di indagare i segreti della fisica e dei rapporti fra spazio e tempo. Il cosmo viene cantato come quel fondo ineffabile e misterioso da cui tutto promana. La tela rivela inoltre lo stile peculiare della Jacqounain: una personale reinterpretazione delle lezioni del cubismo, del surrealismo e della metafisica.
Luca Siniscalco
A man runs around a sphere – or an ellipse. The thread with a crystal at its center serves as a symbolic-visual support for the dreamlike transformation of reality: by pulling it upward, the image closes, leaving only a single runner; if the crystal descends, the image expands and the runner multiplies through time, uniting past, present, and future.
The work is an aesthetic attempt to explore the secrets of physics and the relationships between space and time. The cosmos is celebrated as that ineffable and mysterious ground from which everything emanates. The canvas also reveals Jacqounain’s distinctive style: a personal reinterpretation of the lessons of Cubism, Surrealism, and Metaphysical art.
