La tela di Russo si misura con l’immaginario teologico dell’Angelo, uno dei suoi temi recenti prediletti, in quanto permette all’artista di evocare esplicitamente le atmosfere simboliche a lui care. Qui, su un celestiale, intenso sfondo blu, prende le mosse una narrazione mitologica: emanato dalla Luce, in una notte splendente, un angelo viene in missione sulla Terra. Perde le sue ali che, negli ultimi bagliori, si fondono col blu della notte.

Al suo risveglio, umano fra gli umani, si accinge a svolgere la missione provvidenziale che lo attende. Benevolo Lucifero, reca quella Luce spirituale che gli umani attendo da millenni.

La sua missione è un progetto spirituale. L’intarsio estetico dei fili “cuciti” sulla tela definisce la silhouette delle immagini evocate, spesso emergenti da un nitore dai tratti sovrasensibili.

Russo’s canvas considers the theological imagery of the Angel, one of his recent favorite themes, as it allows the artist to explicitly evoke the symbolic atmospheres he holds dear. Here, against a celestial, intense blue background, a mythological narrative unfolds: emanating from the Light, on a radiant night, an angel descends on a mission to Earth. He loses his wings, which in their final glimmers merge with the blue of the night. Upon awakening, now human among humans, he prepares to carry out the providential mission that awaits him.

A benevolent Lucifer, he brings that spiritual Light that humans have been waiting for millennia. His mission is a spiritual project. An aesthetic inlay of threads “stitched” onto the canvas defines the silhouette of the evoked images, often emerging with a clarity marked by supersensory traits.
